iTivity was designed with a singular focus; to enable companies to standardize on a single, centrally deployed and managed means for supporting every remote computer and device in their organization. One platform, one process, one thing to manage. Now there's a thought!

iTivity is a server-based, self-hosted solution.  iTivity comprises three major components:  the iServer, the iTivity Manager, and a lightweight iTivity Agent.

The iServer
The iServer creates and coordinates secure connections between computers and devices.  The iServer accepts the connection from the iTivity Manager and creates a "reverse connection" to the selected remote device via the iTivity Agent.  The reverse connection allows firewalls to remain intact during the connectivity session

The iTivity Manager
The iTivity Manager is used to access remote computers and devices connected to the iServer.  The iTivity Manager uses an "explorer-style" display to list all devices connected via the iTivity Agent.
 
In a typical Help Desk situation, the Help Desk Support technician would use the iTivity Manager to select the device to be managed.

The iTivity Agent
The iTivity Agent makes the connection back to the iServer.  Agents are very "lightweight" which make them easy to deploy.
 
The iTivity Agent is available for Windows 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2K and XP as well as UNIX and Linux.  All agents can share the same iServer and be managed by the same iTivity Manager.

Licensing
Licenses are based on a specified number of concurrent connections to the iServer.  The minimum number of concurrent connections is two (one manager and one agent).  Additional concurrent connections may be purchased at any time.  iTivity agents are provided at no charge and may be freely distributed.
